Cycle Controlled Sign Specifications

OPERATION

Designed to function under a wide range of environmental conditions including rain, snow, wind and temperatures from—40 degrees F to 140 degrees F. Heavy ice or snow accumulations may temporarily prevent sign operation, but will not damage the motor or drive mechanism. Sign will not be damaged if the side panels are manually forced open or closed with the normal 180 degree operating range. Under power, the opening or closing time is six seconds or less. An optional heater is available for areas where ice and snow accumulations are frequent.

CONSTRUCTION

Primarily constructed from 6061-T6 aluminum components keeping weight at a minimum and yet providing more than adequate structural strength.

SIGN MOUNTINGS

May be mounted in various ways. Typical configurations with single message signs are shown on the mounting diagram page. Two or more double message signs can be mounted side by side on a main frame for a longer length.

SIGN FACE

Composed of reflective sheeting or non-reflecting film. Message, border, and background color conforming to the manual of uniform traffic control devices.

DRIVE MECHANISM

Drive mechanism consists of a chain drive, cam driven, self-locking device with positive drive on both cycles with spring override. Drive motor is 115 VAC, 3 amp, magnetic break, non-reversing, gear reduction type, developing a minimum torque of 140 lbs. at 6—8 Rpm, and has direct drive from output shaft to operating cam. All drive mechanism parts are enclosed in a corrosion resistant box. Sign frame, back panel. Louvers, top pan, and cover are constructed from aluminum.
